We are not a ‘one man band’ nor are we an agent.
Established in 1994 Cee Dee Entertainments is a privately owned company – owned and run 100% by Chris Doherty. We cover all our bookings with all our own DJs with all our own equipment and we deliver it in all our own vans! We don’t pass bookings on to other companies nor do we work for agents.

OUR EQUIPMENT
We supply state of the art equipment - our sound systems are ‘studio’ quality – we use Genuine Bose Speakers, Pioneer Pro CD Players and Crown Amplifiers. Our lighting effects are by Martin and NJD, they are colourful - but subtle, ideal for any event were guests don’t want to be blinded by the light!! Or we can add multiple DMX controlled lighting effects to create a nightclub style atmosphere!
All our electrical equipment is PAT certified - to comply with current Health & Safety Laws. We are fully insured with £2,000,000 public liability.

There are many new companies that are sprouting up all over the place, purporting to be “experts” in event management and wedding entertainment supplies among other things – they are not agents in the traditional sense, nor are they wedding planners/co-ordinators who would normally spend the whole day with you – they are just “finders” – basically non-entities! They find acts by trawling Yellow Pages and the Internet and market them as their own, often sharing them with other similar companies. They add a huge finder’s fee onto the act (sometimes getting more money than the act does) for just shuffling a few bits of paper about!
Some of these companies may start off ok – but some soon get greedy and over-expand with no positive control on the entertainment they supply – some don’t even know who the heck they are booking on your behalf – no proper vetting procedure. To most of them it’s all about cost – who they can get for the cheapest and charge the most for, with hopefully no come-backs. Unlike us, they start over-stretching themselves, often trying to do too many events at the same time. So much for the personal attention!
So please be very aware of these companies when you are choosing your entertainment package – don’t be fooled by their hype.
Ask your agent if he/she has ever been in your chosen venue – if they say yes ask when and get them to describe the room’s ideal location for the entertainment to be placed – access to the venue, etc. – this is where you will usually catch them out!
They list venues on their web sites to get hits via search engines, but they have never been there! Every venue on our list – we have!
My name is Chris Doherty, I have been a DJ and mobile disco owner since 1977 – I’ve played in thousands of venues and set discos up in thousands more – I’ve been inside them – played in them – I know about them in detail.
Keep it real – anybody can make a glossy web site and talk a good job – but can they walk the walk?
Some important questions to ask before you pay your deposit.
1. “Have you ever personally been in the venue before?”
2. “What do you offer?”
3. “What level of service will I get?”
4. “Total cost?”
These simple questions should help you make up your mind quickly.
You’re probably now asking yourself – surely they all can’t be that bad – how are they surviving if all that we say is true!
They are surviving due to the good fortune in some of the acts that they supply – some people can be inherently lazy and entertainers are no exception! Some are happy to undersell themselves in the hope of steady work. These “Finders” can be quite persuasive!
All we are saying is don’t be fooled by their hype! Choose your entertainment wisely. Best to be 100% happy and confident in the choice you have made rather than worrying about the entertainment you have booked. With us you get what you pay for and you only pay for what you get!
